Re:What did you think? - 2006/02/01 10:44 I have a different view. I agree fully that all 365 days belong to the Lord, and that we must live every day for Him.

However, I have an inherent problem with attempts to take a worldly thing (that has its roots in the world and not in the Spirit), and try to purify/make it holy. "Christmas" does not deserve the focus and attention it gets - neither from the world, nor from the church. Christ deserves our attention - every day.

I choose not to celebrate Christmas, but the Lord has convinced me not to make a big thing of it - Rom 14:5 "Or, say, one person thinks that some days should be set aside as holy and another thinks that each day is pretty much like any other. There are good reasons either way. So, each person is free to follow the convictions of conscience. Rom 14:6 What's important in all this is that if you keep a holy day, keep it for God's sake; if you eat meat, eat it to the glory of God and thank God for prime rib; if you're a vegetarian, eat vegetables to the glory of God and thank God for broccoli.
Rom 14:7 None of us are permitted to insist on our own way in these matters. "
