Dear friends and co-builders of the Russian church
I greet you from the great city of Moscow in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!
We are experiencing an increase in the grace of God, in anticipation of THE revival of all times. Have you heard about it? Towards the end of the 19th century, the great missionary to China, Hudson Taylor, saw a vision while preaching. It was so clear that he stopped in the middle of the sermon and started sharing what the Holy Spirit was showing him.
In the vision, he saw that two world wars would be waged on the earth. After that he saw revival come to Russia, the biggest revival the world has ever seen. The revival then spread to Europe and then to the rest of the world. After that the Lord Jesus Christ returned!
Ten days ago I felt the Holy Spirit speaking to me that we need to have a special prayer meeting instead of our usual Saturday morning School of Ministry. As we came together to pray, we experienced a strong sense of expectation in the Spirit. We simply continued to flow in an almost effortless stream of prayer, worship and visions.
We then watched the prophesy of Hudson Taylor and after that an interview with Bob Jones, one of the strongest prophets living in our time. In that interview he once again confirmed the fact that Russia is about to enter into mighty revival. As the interview with Bob Jones came to an end, my mobile phone rang. A sister I know to have a strong prophetic gift, was on the other end of the line. She told me that she saw the angel of revival standing outside Moscow, ready to enter in!
During this prayer meeting, I felt that our time had come to start with all-night prayer. We announced it and started making arrangements. The next Friday night Union of Christians Church Moscow had its first all-night prayer meeting. I have often led night-prayer meetings in the earlier years when I pastored the Jesus is Lord Church, but I immediately sensed that we were experiencing a level of the anointing that we have never experienced before. What a night! How awesome is God! What amazing grace! There is an accelleration in the Spirit and we need to keep up with God.
From now onwards we will pray every Friday night, through to Saturday morning.
Secondly, we will now start to establish a 24 hours prayer chain in our church. Let us RUN with that which the Holy Spirit is birthing.
Those who truly pray will truly go out and share the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God. I clearly understood this as I was listening earlier this evening to members of our home church: the fire of God burning in their hearts to take the gospel to everyone in Moscow is simply consuming them. The harvest is ready and the labourers are ready to go!
On the 1st of May the Union of Christians Church celebrated its first birthday. The official celebrations will be on the 14th of May - on that day we will have a lot to thank the Lord for. Jesus said that He will build His church and that the gates of hell shall never prevail against it. We can experience how the King of Kings, the Master Builder of all times is building His church in Moscow!
I am calling on everybody who is experiencing the quickening of the Holy Spirit as you are reading what I am saying: COME ALONGSIDE WITH US AND HELP US BUILD THE UNION OF CHRISTIANS CHURCH until it becomes the biggest of all trees in the garden, ready to serve the multitudes of Moscow, the CIS and the nations of the earth. We need your prayers and commitment to us. We need finances to do what the Lord is guiding us to do (we are currently standing in faith for $10 000+ to buy quality sound equipment for the church). We all need to stand together to take one of the biggest steps of faith we have ever taken: buying our first church building in Moscow.
AFTER 11 YEARS: THE CHURCH BUILDING ON THE HORIZON
I have been always been careful to build the true Church of the Living God, which is a spiritual building rising up in the Lord. Now, after 11 years of ministry in Russia, I know that the time has come to stand in faith for a church building, OUR building. This building - the Christian Centre - will facilitate a host of ministries:
1. Firstly it will serve as the physical home of the Union of Christians church, for Sunday Celebration services, children's church, youth church, administrative offices, training meetings and leadership meetings. At a certain stage I want to start with daily early morningservices, the main components being preaching the Word and praying for people.
2. It will serve as a base for our musical teams, including the Union of Christians Worship Team, the Outreach Team and the Youth Worship Team.
3. It will serve as a base for 24 hour prayer and worship, also for training people to pray.
4. The Christian Centre will host the Moscow office of the Association of Christian Churches of Russia "Union of Christians," serving the Central and Southern regions of Russia (There are currently about 70 churches in these two regions.) This wil be the place where we would receive the many pastors visiting us, host our monthly pastors' meetings and run training schools for pastors and other five-fold ministers.
5. The Moscow office for TBN Russia will be located in this building. It will include a television studio. (See http://www.tbnrussia.org).
6. The building will host a permanent Church Planting School.
7. Christian Art, Dance and Drama classes (CREARE) will be facilitated here.
8. The offices of our Christian Fund, the River of Life Fund, will be facilitated in the Center.
9. Our desire is to help young churches in Moscow grow to the point where they can afford to rent or buy their own buildings. By providing them a temporary place of meeting for their Sunday services, we can give them the extra boost and encouragement that they so much need in the pioneer stages of their church. (The current situation for renting space is critical - many churches have been forced out of the buildings they used to meet in and are now in desperate search for a place to meet. Most churches simply cannot afford to pay $2000/month for four Sunday services a month.)
10. The Christian Centre will serve as headquarters for Mission Russia, from where we will continue labouring to see a church planted in every city, town and village in Russia.
In the next two weeks I hope to start meeting with people who will help me to find the building we are looking for. The price tag for such a building could be anything between $5 million and $20 million. I will keep you up to date with progress.
