I was then taken to the book of Daniel, where my eyes where opened to a most stunning, life-transforming prophecy about the Kingdom of God: We read in Daniel 2 that king Nebuchadnezzar saw in a dream a huge statute that was eventually destroyed by a rock not cut out by human hands. This rock depicts Jesus Christ, who would be born in the time of the Roman Empire.
In v. 35 of Daniel 2, it then goes on to say that "...the stone that struck the image became a GREAT MOUNTAIN, and filled the whole earth." The interpretation of this scripture is found in Daniel 2:44: "And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a KINGDOM which shall never be destroyed; and the KINGDOM shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever." All glory to God!
History books reveal that those four kingdoms have already come and gone: the Babylonian Empire, the Median-Persian kingdom, the Greek kingdom and the Roman Empire. Verse 44 states: "...in the time of THOSE KINGS." 500 years after the dream in Daniel 2, Jesus was born, ministered, was crucified and rose to life again. 40 days after his resurrection He went up to the heavens to sit on the throne at the right hand of the Father, from where He now rules and reigns.
In Acts 2:33 we read: "Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear." Thus Jesus Christ - the King - sat down on His throne to start to rule and reign. He then gave His disciples power through the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8, Acts 2:1-4) to proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom (Mat. 4:23, Mat. 9:35, Mat. 28:20). Wherever people would receive this gospel, they would also become part of the ever-increasing Kingdom of God that started to rapidly spread towards the ends of the earth.
As we proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom and people receive it, the glorious mountain of the kingdom of God continues to spread and grow across the earth.
I realised that the image of the huge mountain filling the earth was a most powerful accurate image of the Kingdom of God being established on this earth.
Almost 2000 years ago Jesus proclaimed: "And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force."
The Kingdom of God is advancing across this earth and no demon in hell can stop it. Today more than 60,000 people a day enter the Kingdom of God (Joh.3:3&5), proclaiming the glorious praises of our God. Truly the prayers of the righteous - "...Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven..." - are being answered in a most wonderful fashion. The Kingdom Mountain is spreading across the earth.
