The Four Crucial Questions Of Life
As my understanding of the Kingdom of God continued to grow, I started to see the growth of the Kingdom in visual form. This came in answer to the questions burning in my heart before God: "How does the Kingdom grow on earth?", "What are the phases of growth and how do we get there?"
In 2004 I started to understand that we need to ask FOUR crucial questions in our life. If we can personally get the answer to those four questions in our lives from God, we are assured of certain success on this earth.
These are the four questions:
Question One: "WHY?" This question deals with the MOTIVES of our hearts: Why are we doing what we are doing? Why do we exist? Why do we want to serve, minister, pray and preach? A failure to receive a sure answer in our hearts to this most foundational of questions can cause terrible disaster and heartbreak, often after many years of hard labour. The simple fact that we live this life only once is enough motivation for us to first receive the answer to this question before we move on to answer the other three crucial questions.
Question Two: "WHAT?" or "WHERE TO?" This question deals with our VISION. Where are we called to go? What should be the end goal of what we are doing on this earth? Remember that a powerful vision born out of the wrong motives will bring disaster. The true vision that God has for our lives is birthed out of the right motives in our hearts.
Question Three: "HOW?" This question deals with our STRATEGY to reach our goal. Once we know why we are doing what we are doing and what our end goal is, we need to understand how we will get there. Both Noah and Moses were told by God precisely what they should build (Noah's Ark and the Ark of the Covenant) and how they should build it. Just as godly vision is birthed out of godly motives, godly strategy is birthed out of godly vision.
Question Four: "WITH WHAT?" This question deals with our RESOURCES to walk in the strategy that will accomplish the vision. Nehemiah needed building material and workers to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Spiritual gifts, talents, professional abilities, social skills, experience and finances are all resources. Time is a most precious resource, especially in the light of the short time we spend on this earth between our birth and death. The most precious and wanted resource on the earth today is mature Christian leaders.
