The Rest of the Lord – Carol Singleton

“Then Moses went up into the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.  The glory of the Lord rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days.  On the seventh day God called for Moses out of the midst of the cloud.  … Moses entered into the midst of the cloud and went up into the mountain, and Moses was on the mountain forty days and nights.” Exodus 24:15-18

Dear Friends,

I greet you in the powerful Name of Jesus Christ!

I need to share a very important shift in my life and ministry with you so that you can understand what God is currently doing and so that you can understand how to support us in prayer during this time.

When I returned to Russia in January I was filled with the new assignment and vision God released to me of the ‘Voice of the Bride’.  Yet, I was barely a week in Russia when I started feeling that I have absolutely no strength to mobilise the team and the churches who took part in the train journey!  Until I realised that it is not the time to run with the vision now.

YEAR OF REST

I couldn’t understand it and cried out to the Lord for an answer.  God gently reminded me that I was soon (8th of April) to enter into my 14th year as a missionary in Russia.  This year, 2009,  was to be my year of rest, my sabbath year.

The needed confirmation came through a newsletter from Chuck Pierce that was released on the 11th of February 2009, called ‘Protect your Vineyard! Jezebel has a Plan’. The following paragraph provided the confirmation of what God spoke to my spirit a few days previously:

‘A Renewed Vineyard! The Lord showed me this principle again as we began to study the vineyard.  Every seven years, the vineyard was to lay fallow.  According to the rabbis, the land, the workers, and the animals were to rest.  The people were to study the Word (Issachar-Torah) during that seventh year.  This is a picture of dominion in the Messianic kingdom! The seventh day Sabbath rest, the seventh year, the “seven times seven”, ?? or Jubilee, were all time sequences required for the new to manifest.  This is also a “new wine skin” principle. A wineskin could become new by being soaked in water and then oiled for seven years. Declare that you are becoming new – in quality, strength, and vision.’

WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR YEAR OF REST?

My first question was ‘What exactly am I going to do in my year of rest?’, because I didn’t feel particularly tired although I must admit my tolerance level was not were it was supposed to be!

• There were, however, a few desires in me:
• to write the books God told me to write;
• to develop the website so that it truly will release the sound of heaven(this includes populating the site with the teachings of the prayer school and all the prophetic words and teachings God released during the ‘Fire of the Bride’);
• to create prophetic material that will minister God’s heart for this strategic season to the hearts and minds of people
• to study

WRITING AND CREATING

God gave me another confirmation through Exodus 24 that these are exactly the things that I should do during this year.  Moses and his leaders went up to the mountain of the Lord and stayed there for 6 days.  On the 7th day God called Moses to go higher.  I ‘went up the mountain of the Lord’ with my team for the past 6 years and now I have to go further on my own.  We see in Exodus 25 that the Lord taught Moses all the laws and commands and also gave him the blueprint for the tabernacle.  Therefor, God released teaching as well as a creative anointing to build the tabernacle!

As we saw through the word given by Chuck Pierce, it is necessary to study the Word of God in greater depth during this time.  It also involves writing down those teachings that God released – in my case it will be in book form and posted on the website.  The creative part is the design of prophetic material which will also release the message of God, and the design of the website.

I know that this time of preparation is crucial for what God wants to do after this time of rest.  Without this I will not be able to flow in God’s fullness for I know deep in my spirit that there is an amazing release of the glory of God coming to Russia which will impact the nations!  I need to know my Bridegroom God more and I long for a deeper intimacy with Him.  I also know that my intimacy with Him and my ministry to Him is what will empower me for the times to come.  For it is not through my power that anything will be achieved, only through His power!

SABBATH YEAR

My Sabbath year started on the 8th of April and I had the privilege to attend a Jewish Passover meal with friends that evening.  What a blessing it was!

After my return to Russia in April, I shared with my team about the Sabbath year and we all entered into a Forty Day Fast to hear from God how they need to continue while I will be in this year of rest.  It is such a privilege to fast and to get closer to God!

• Please pray that the Holy Spirit will guide us through this fast.
• Pray that every member of my team will see their position in the WPC clearly and pray that they will take up those positions with boldness.
• Pray that they will be energised and refreshed in their vision and expectation from the Lord during this fast.
• Pray that not one of them will fall away and become lost, in the Name of Jesus.

The weekend of the 23rd of May we will go to a ‘dacha’ to Pray and Fast together over the weekend.

• Please pray that God will unite is in the spirit and strengthen our relationship with one another.
• Pray that the Holy Spirit will open our eyes to see the beauty and potential of God in one another.
• Please pray that all despondency, rejection and fears will fall away and that the Holy Spirit will loose all shackles around their feet and hands that hinders them to move forward in God’s calling for their lives.

The 29th of May we will meet with the pastors of Smolensk to introduce them to the Smolensk World Prayer Center.

• Please pray for favor amongst the pastors of Smolensk.
• Please pray for unity in the team of Smolensk, and also between their team and ours.
• Please pray against a spirit of fear and intimidation in the Smolensk team.
• Pray that the Kingdom of God will come in Smolensk as it is in heaven, in the Name of Jesus!

On the 30th and 31st of May we will pray and take part in the Global Day of Prayer in Smolensk. We will go to a field just outside of Smolensk called the ‘prayer mountain’ by the locals where we will pray under the open heavens!

• Please pray once again that the hearts of the intercessors will be clean of rejection, offense and judgement and that we will stand before the Lord, in the gap for the nations, with clean hands and holy hearts.

Time to Write, Create and Study

I will return to South Africa on the 4th of July and will search for places where I can study, write the books and develop the website to my hearts desire.  I need the mountains or the sea for inspiration and their might be a few options that I will pursue.  I will be in South Africa for at least 4 months.

I am already enjoying this year with the Lord immensely as I am taking the opportunity to just worship for hours on end and studying the Word of God without hurry.  God is speaking to me about businesses and politics which also need to stand on the foundation of the apostolic and prophetic and I am watching teachings of a man who lives his life prophetically in business and also in politics in the position of an intercessor.  It is so glorious to see an example of the things God started imparting to my spirit!

• Please pray for the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to study, write and create.
• Please pray that the Holy Spirit will help me discipline my day to enable me to do all these things in His rest.
• Please pray with me that God will provide a place/places to live where I will inspired and energised to write and do what God has called me to do in this year.
• Please also pray that God will provide me with a vehicle during this time.  It is hard to be without reliable transport in South Africa.

Thank you that I could share this with you.  If God gives you a word or a Scripture for me, please share it with me.  I need your prayer covering and love more than ever before in this time.  It is not only a time of rest but also a time of restoration from the woundedness and harshness of the past 13 years on the mission field
